Embracing the Journey: From the Pacific Northwest to Maui

As I prepare for my upcoming move to Maui this October, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey that has brought me here. My art has been deeply inspired by the wild, rugged landscapes of the Pacific Northwest – the jagged mountains, roaring rivers, and lush, mist-covered forests that have shaped my creative voice. But now, as I prepare to embrace a new chapter in the vibrant, sacred lands of Hawaii, my work is evolving.

From now until my departure, I’m taking this time to fully immerse myself in the creative energy of the Pacific Northwest, including my upcoming art show at Latte da Coffeehouse & Wine Bar in Vancouver, Washington, this September. This show will be a celebration of everything this region has given me – the energy, the depth, and the connection to nature that sparked my creative fire, and a chance to share that inspiration with others one last time before I make the leap to the islands.

Once I arrive in Maui, my vision is to create fusion art that blends the powerful, dynamic energy of the Pacific Northwest with the sacred, spiritual essence of Hawaii. I hope to replicate the art show experiences I’ve loved in Vancouver and Portland, but in a way that honors the culture, community, and traditions of Wailuku. I want to create pieces that not only reflect the physical beauty of these two regions but also capture the spirit, respect, and connection that define them.

I’m aware of the responsibility that comes with creating art in a place as culturally rich and significant as Hawaii. I know there is a delicate balance between expressing my personal artistic voice and showing the proper respect for the land, its people, and its traditions. This is a journey of learning, listening, and growing – one that I approach with both excitement and humility.

As I navigate this transition, I invite you to join me on this journey. I’ll be sharing my thoughts, experiences, and, of course, my art as I make this incredible leap from one side of the Pacific to the other. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
