About the Artist

Melissa Vida is an abstract expressionist whose work explores emotion through texture, movement, and intuition.

For Melissa, painting isn't about recreating what she sees—it's about translating what she feels.

Working primarily with heavy-bodied acrylics, palette knives, and layered textures, each piece becomes an emotional landscape. Rather than beginning with a rigid plan, she allows instinct to guide the process, letting every layer reveal the next. The result is artwork that invites viewers to slow down, discover new details over time, and form their own emotional connection.

After returning to the Pacific Northwest, Melissa's work entered a new chapter. While navigating ongoing vision challenges and medical treatment, she found herself creating differently. Her paintings became less about perfect composition and more about honesty—embracing imperfection, intuition, and the beauty found in vulnerability.

Today, Vida Magic Art reflects that transformation.

Each collection captures a moment of growth, resilience, grief, hope, or release, creating pieces that feel deeply personal while leaving space for each viewer to discover their own story within the texture.

The Philosophy Behind Vida Magic

Vida Magic was created from the belief that art has the ability to connect us—to ourselves, to one another, and to the emotions that often live beneath the surface.

Melissa grew up in Southern California before spending many years in the Pacific Northwest, where the region's forests, coastlines, and changing skies continue to influence her work.
